OUR STUDENTS
Bonded through their leadership aspirations, our students are given the tools to become capable and confident leaders. Through the activities and challenges presented to them, they experience leadership in various forms to positively influence, inspire and support others. Hear directly from our students on their FLA experience.
While the start of the week was mentally challenging it was the most incredible opportunity I’ve had come my way. By being challenged both mentally and physically, it allowed myself to grow in ways I wouldn’t have otherwise as I would’ve avoided it.
My favourite memory of the trip was the business visit with AirNZ. We were able to learn so many skills in just a short time. We used all the input from the team to solve problems way out of our comfort zones but being confident and supporting each other made it all work in the end.
This rounds to my main take away from the trip - to lead you need to lean on people one time and at others allow them to lean on you.

Wow what an absolutely amazing experience this was. I never thought I would cry, sob and weep so much in one week but also jump for joy, dance and scream with happiness in the same 8 days. Future Leaders Academy helped me to connect with so many amazing rangatahi from across the pacific. I love the people on my program like Whānau. I still FaceTime with some and am planning to meet up with some soon.
I was hesitant at the start, but putting myself out there, led me to connect with people that have truly changed my life for the better. I love my Whānau so much and miss them so much more.
