Confirmation

Future Leaders Academy requires full disclosure of all medical history and conditions. Successful applicants will be screened by our staff, and if a medical condition us deemed not suitable for attending one of our courses, participants may be withdrawn.

Safety

The destinations we choose for our courses, all have access to modern and competent primary medical facilities, and the nature of our activities are low-medium risk only. We have a detailed Health and Safety Policy, and Risk Management Plan, which has been independently vetted by; Safe and Sound Solutions, Christchurch, New Zealand. See more safety information here.

Privacy

Personal information.
Your personal information will be held confidential by Future Leaders Academy, in accordance with the Privacy Act, for the purposes of Future Leaders courses and associated administration, including promotional activities. You have the right to see all information held by us and may ask at any time for that information to be corrected. 

Promotional material
You authorise Future Leaders the right to use your name, comments and images (video footage or photographs) that are obtained in relation to your Future Leaders participation and to disclose this information to third parties for marketing and public relations purposes; these materials will remain the property of Future Leaders. You grant Future Leaders permission to contact you by email, including a regular e-newsletter and other updates.

 

Drugs and Alcohol

Future Leaders Academy has a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy. No alcohol or non-prescription drugs are permitted.

Information Accuracy

Your booking may be cancelled or you may be sent home from your course at your own expense if you give false information, withhold relevant information, or don’t update us with any new relevant information, unless permitted by law.

Willing to Participate

Our courses are usually an international adventure. For the benefit of yourself and other course participants, you must be willing to fully participate in your course, comply with all instructions, and respect others, their beliefs and belongings. Otherwise, you may be sent home at your own expense.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowable by New Zealand and Australian law, Future Leaders Academy is not liable to you for injury, damage, delays, or other additional costs you incur. 

 

Payment & Refunds

Paying your course fee.

50% payment is required 4 weeks after you've paid the deposit, with remaining 50% required 8 weeks before your course. Course fees are in NZ and Aus dollars and are GST inclusive. For support with fundraising head to our funding page. 

 

Transfers.

Your full course fee may be transferred only once to another course date up to 8 weeks before your original course start date. Transfer requests within 8 weeks of a course start date will be handled on a case by case basis.

Refunds, cancellations & departures policy.

Your course fee, less your 10% deposit, is refundable up to 8 weeks before your course start date. Deposits are non-refundable except for medical reasons, at which point a verified medical certificate is required within 7 days of cancellation to be eligible for a refund. If you cancel within 8 weeks of your course starting, your full course fee is not refundable. Cancellations must be received in writing i.e. email.

If you depart your course early due to an injury or illness incurred on course, your travel insurance policy will cover any refund requests, or expenses. Participants will be required to the insurance excess fee. 

 

If you depart early or are sent home from your course due to behaviour or motivation barriers, your course fee is not transferable or refundable.

If you depart your course due to an undisclosed existing medical or mental health condition, your course fee is not transferable or refundable.

If something major happens outside our control e.g; natural disaster, international flight departure delays longer than two days, or any other significant operational issue preventing the safe and effective delivery of a programme, we might have to cancel the trip. In this situation you will have the option to transfer to a different course, or request a refund

Insurance policy.

Sickness on Course

Future Leaders actively takes steps to prevent the spread of any infectious illness during all courses. You must contact us if you have any illness in the days prior to course start - our staff will advise you whether it is still the appropriate time to attend.

 

Any participants or staff displaying flu or COVID-19 like symptoms will be asked to take a Rapid Antigen Test. Anyone producing a positive test result will be asked to isolate until one of the following occurs:

- 5 days have passed since symptoms began

- a negative test result is produced
- they have been symptom-free for 24 hours
